Let's Meet at Budapest Essentials

Between 25 and 28 June 2015 Budapest has something special to offer for festival people: Budapest Essentials returns for the second time and it will turn the whole city into one urban festival. The programme, simply put, is the finest selection of everything captivating in the Hungarian capital: street food madness, vivid nightlife and cultural events on every corner in additional to the numerous international headliners. This time party people got the chance to experience the city from a new perspective: not only the popular downtown clubs will host parties, but special venues all over downtown, some set up at UNESCO World Heritage sites, will be used as locations for the one-of-a-kind events of Budapest Essentials. Now organisers share the first batch of the international lineup, and as they promise, more will follow.

The British synthpop queen La Roux joins Budapest Essentials, whose latest LP was released last year. La Roux’s electrifying concerts are complete with her number one hits, like In For The Kill or Let Me Down Gently. Following the dancefloors of Ibiza and Mexico’s BPM Festival, Budapest can finally welcome Solomun from Hamburg, whose own label, Diynamic, means a fresh new sound for the German house/deep house scene.

Sub Focus, who himself is a pioneer of the drum and bass genre, will rock the dancefloor with his eclectic and trendsetter DJ set. Additionally, Carl Craig, one of the godfathers of traditional Detroit techno, moreover the free-minded and outspoken Dope D.O.D., nevertheless the mesmerizing house overlord Gold Panda, are all making their way to the Hungarian capital for the last weekend of June 2015.

The organisers fundamentally changed the concept of their urban festival: this year there will be less foreign acts, however all of them represents the first very best of the international popular and underground music scenes. The festival shifts its focus to the touristic, cultural and gastronomic opportunities Budapest offers, and sheds light on the creative young locals, living and framing contemporary Budapest. „This time, we transform the most special public spaces and buildings of Budapest to real festival venues. We aim to provide the opportunity to all of our guests to attend all signature events, sparing the painful decision of selecting one, or only a few. We want to create a real urban festival atmosphere, and prove that locals make Budapest one of the most liveable and colourful capital of Europe” said Dr Gergely Csókay, chief organiser of the Budapest Essentials Urban Festival.
Early bird tickets are now available in limited quantity for 9 900 HUF and can be purchased on the festival’s official website: www.budapestessentials.com
